Pedestrian crashes increase in recent weeks, TPD says
TOPEKA (KSNT)- The Topeka Police Department says they have seen an increase in pedestrians not using the crosswalk properly. In 2024, nine people were killed in Topeka and 13 in Shawnee County as a result of being hit. The TPD suggests that if there is no crosswalk, go closest to an intersection.
