Festival attendee whose friend was hospitalized says Downtown Days shouldn't end
People who witnessed the violence that led to the end of Lee's Summit's longtime Downtown Days festival are sharing their experiences publicly. The annual festival, a tradition that had been held for 37 years, came to an abrupt end on June 6 after hundreds of teenagers gathered downtown and overwhelmed police officers.
