Legislature approves bill giving A.G. oversight of local government lawsuits
Read Article The Kansas Legislature late Thursday night approved a bill giving Attorney General Kris Kobach oversight of class-action lawsuits brought by local governments. The House voted 79-40 on a bill similar to one that former Attorney General Derek Schmidt backed in 2020 that would have limited local governments from bringing lawsuits based on contingency-fee arrangements.
