Lawmakers start fresh talks on property taxes with new negotiators
Read Article State legislators on Thursday resumed talks on bills aimed at holding down property taxes with a new set of negotiators joining the discussions as both sides appeared to make progress. On Thursday morning, Senate President Ty Masterson and Senate Majority Leader Chase Blasi replaced Sens. Caryn Tyson and Virgil Peck on the conference committee. Over in the House, House Speaker Dan Hawkins and Majority Leader Chris Croft replaced state Reps. Adam Smith and Carl Turner.
